We continue to look for meaningful ways to reduce our environmental impact and overall carbon footprint while making purposeful skincare that puts skin health first.

Because caring for skin and caring for the world around us should be part of the same conversation.

Our environmental commitments have evolved alongside The Statement.

What began with supporting tree planting here in Canada has grown into a broader commitment. Today, through Sprout, we support tree planting around the world and the removal of plastic from Earth's waterways.

Every order helps support that progress.

Customers who want to do more can take their impact a step further by adding two trees at checkout or gifting additional trees through The Statement.

The choices we make around our products don't stop with the formula.

We consider packaging for its ability to protect the formula, support its performance and help reduce unnecessary waste.

Many of our formulas are housed in recyclable airless packaging, designed to help limit exposure to air, light and contamination while allowing you to use more of the product inside.

Our shipping materials are selected with the same intention. We use recycled corrugated boxes printed with vegetable-based inks, along with biodegradable honeycomb packing paper and biodegradable packing peanuts.

Our product bags are made from compostable and biodegradable materials, chosen to reduce our reliance on conventional plastic packaging and support a more responsible end of life.

Because packaging should have a purpose, too.

Our responsibility doesn't end when you've used the last drop. The Re-State Club gives your empty Statement products and packaging a way back to us, so we can recycle eligible materials responsibly.

Collect six empty Statement products and return them along with any additional Statement packaging you'd like to send back. Through our partnership with TerraCycle®, we responsibly recycle eligible materials.

Once we receive your return, we'll apply a $30 store credit to your Statement customer account for use toward a future Statement purchase.

Every ingredient has a purpose.

We select ingredients for their function within a formula, their benefits to skin and the standards behind their production. Nothing is included simply to fill space.

Many of our finished skincare products are USDA Certified Organic, and every organic ingredient used across our formulations is USDA Certified Organic, with certification verified through Pro-Cert in Canada.

We choose certified organic ingredients because their production must meet rigorous, independently verified standards. This gives us greater confidence in their quality, integrity and traceability.

Where non-organic ingredients are used, they are selected for the meaningful role they play within the formula. Our approach is guided by ingredient function, formulation integrity and skin health.

Organic should mean something.

For us, choosing organic ingredients has always been about more than what appears on a label. It's about the integrity of the ingredients themselves, the standards behind how they're grown, produced and handled, and the independent verification that gives those standards meaning.

That's why USDA organic certification is an important part of how we formulate at The Statement.

The standards behind the seal.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) oversees organic certification through its National Organic Program (NOP), a federally regulated system that establishes standards for organic agricultural production, processing, handling and labeling.

These standards address how organic ingredients are grown and managed, restrict certain substances and production methods, and require documentation and traceability throughout the supply chain. Certified operations are subject to annual inspections, with additional inspections conducted when necessary.

In other words, organic certification is not simply a manufacturer's promise. It requires independent verification.

What do the percentages actually mean?

Not every product containing organic ingredients qualifies to carry the USDA Organic seal. The NOP establishes distinct labeling categories:

• 100% Organic: All ingredients must be certified organic, excluding water and salt.
• Organic: At least 95% of the ingredients must be certified organic, excluding water and salt. Any remaining ingredients must meet strict NOP requirements.
• Made with Organic: At least 70% of the ingredients must be certified organic, excluding water and salt, with additional requirements for the remaining ingredients.

Only finished products certified in the 100% Organic or Organic categories are eligible to display the USDA Organic seal. Its use is optional, but the standards behind it are not.

Products that do not qualify for the seal may still contain certified organic ingredients, which can be identified individually in their ingredient information.

Our commitment goes beyond the seal.

Many of our finished skincare products are USDA Certified Organic and carry the USDA Organic seal. Every organic ingredient used across our formulations is also USDA Certified Organic, including those used in products that do not qualify for finished-product certification.

Where additional non-organic ingredients are included, they serve a specific function within the formula. This allows us to combine certified organic ingredients with purposeful formulation science.

Our organic certification is verified through Pro-Cert in Canada, providing independent oversight of the standards behind our certified ingredients and products.

The ingredients we choose matter. So do the standards behind them.
